When I was a teacher and coach at Richardson High School, I had a colleague who had been Dat Nguyen's, (former Aggie and Dallas Cowboy football player) jr. high basketball coach! He arranged for Dat to visit us. Michael Santiago (from DFW FCA) was a huge supporter and arranged for his church to make breakfast burritos for us. Our school was under construction as we were adding on, so all the kids had to walk from the parking lot right by where we were set up in order to bypass construction. We had set up a table for Dat Nguyen to sign autographs and hundreds of kids went by and saw him. Administrators and coaches also attended. We had purchased several hundred copies of Josh McDowell's "More Than A Carpenter" and the kids were grabbing the books and Dat was autographing them and they were then taking them into the school. This included Muslim kids, unsaved kids and others who would take the book into their homes. God brought together the circumstances, the people and the opportunity to reach kids that would never attend an FCA meeting. What an amazing day that was!
